The Network environment is the first level of concern in the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) of Information Technology. Expect our IT advisory professional to ask you the following pertinent questions;

  1. How well is your firewall performing?
  2. Is your Network Environment reasonably secure? In answering this question think about how dependent you are on the ITSE. The reasoning is that, “are you able to still continue doing business if the ITSE suffers downtime or catastrophic failure”
  3. How long a downtime can you afford to have? Can you quantify the revenue loss per hour of downtime?
  4. Is your Network configuration and settings meeting minimum industry standards?
  5. Do you have a process in place to manage Network level intrusions (IDS – Intrusion Detection System)?
  6. Do you have a Segregation of Duties (SOD) issues in the monitoring of your Network Environment.?
  7. Have you had a penetration test performed on the ITSE?
  8. Is your ITSE configured for single sign authentication?
  9. Is your Network level Policies & Procedures formally documented?
  10. Do you have a defined Network Diagram formally documented and approved by executive management

The above questions are a sample of the advisory rigor we undertake in our pursuit to get you the right advise!
